A nursing assistant will perform tasks such as monitoring health status, feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, or ambulation of patients in a health or nursing facility. May include administering medications and other health-related tasks. Includes nursing care assistants, nursing aides and nursing assistants.

What are the skills you acquire?

Successful graduates of the program will have an understanding of human biological systems, including the digestive, endocrine, nervous-muscular, respiratory, cardiovascular and reproductive systems.

You will learn to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff, including taking medical histories and providing excellent patient care.

Career opportunities.

The CNA role has other common names, such as nursing assistant, patient care assistant (PCA) or nursing assistant. CNAs may work in hospitals or long-term care facilities, including nursing homes.
